Which file works in which tool. If your file is on this table, it works — the format is detected from the file itself, so you never have to tell the tool what it is.

Fleet Analysis needs at least one .vtk or .vkx in the group. Only those two record the start line and the gun. The boats whose files don't — .vcc, .gpx, .fit — borrow both from a boat that does, which is also how the races are picked out of the day.
Events works the same way, and the first file uploaded for a day has to be the .vtk or .vkx. That upload sets each race's start line, gun and race number for the whole fleet; everyone after it can be any format. Up to 20 boats an event, and up to 6 MB a file — a whole day's racing is usually about 3 MB.
